Judy Coppinger Bess

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Judy Coppinger Bess, age 80, was born March 22, 1943 and died November 21, 2023 at her residence following an extended illness.           

A retired employee of A.O. Smith and member of the Baptist church, she was the daughter of the late Jessie William and Mable Louise Savage Coppinger. She was married to Tommy Bess of McMinnville on March 8, 1963.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Earman Coppinger.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bess is survived by children, Tammy (Billy Joe) Crouch of Morrison, TN and Sharon (Burt) Dean of Sweetwater, TN; five grandchildren, Jonathan Crouch, Cody (Victoria Beaty) Crouch, Brandi Fults, Derica (Chad) Burns and Blake (Kayla) Carter, all of McMinnville, TN; six great-grandchildren, Kaidence Crouch, Konnor Crouch, Kamryn Crouch, Isabella and Gage Burns and Jaxon Cutts and sister-in-law, Jennie Coppinger of McMinnville. 

Graveside service and interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2023 at Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County, TN with Jeremy Kliewer and Johnny Newby officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at High’s.
