Karen Lynn Payne

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Karen Lynn Payne, age 65, was born March 1, 1958 and died September 18, 2023 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. A retired computer programmer for NASA and the United States Air Force and Army and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of Doris E. Payne of McMinnville and the late Thomas H. Payne. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by brother, Thomas Dale Payne. In addition to her mother, Miss Payne is survived by sister, Teresa Payne of McMinnville; brother, Steven (Mary) Payne of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Annette Payne of Woodbury, TN; nieces, Chelsey and Kellie Payne of Woodbury, TN and Krista (Leighton) Smith of Lebanon, TN; great-niece, Emmie Smith of Lebanon, TN; great-nephew, Colton Smith of Lebanon, TN and aunts, Sylvia Stevens of McMinnville and Agnes Prewett of North Carolina. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with David Costello officiating.
