McMinnville, TN resident and Murfreesboro, TN native Keith Prater, age 44, was born January 16, 1981 and died July 21, 2025 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN following an extended illness.
A self-employed construction worker, he was the son of Donnie Prater of McMinnville, TN and Carol Goodwin of Smithville, TN. He was preceded in death by brother, Brian Lee Prater.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Prater is survived by children, Lauren Marie Russell and Emily Nichole Hilton, both of Murfreesboro, TN and Gage (Alissa) Prater of McMinnville, TN; grandchild, Jasper; brother, Neil (Laura McAbee) Prater of McMinnville, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins and best friend, Josh Barnes.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Michael Hearn officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Bluff Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
