Landon D. Cantrell

Dekalb County native and McMinnville resident Landon D. Cantrell was born August 23, 1936 to the late Dewey L. Cantrell, Sr. and late Hazel L. Parsley Cantrell of the Dibrell community and passed peacefully from this life January 24, 2022 at his residence with his loving wife Sylvia at his side. Landon was a deacon for many years and a member of Central Church of Christ. Family members other than parents preceding him in death were sisters and brothers-in-law, Joe and Marion Green, Paul and Dorothy Bratcher, Billy Reed, and Bobby and Nettie Reed and nephews, Jeffrey D. Bratcher, Lee Cantrell, Jeff Wilson, and Joe Allen Green. Landon is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Sylvia C. Cantrell of McMinnville, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Sam Anderson of McMinnville, TN; sons and daughter-in-law, Landon Dale and Laura Cantrell of Franklin, TN, Darryl Cantrell of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren and spouses, Heath Simpson, Drew and Airrah Simpson, Sammy and Logan Anderson, Tiffany Anderson, Jessica and Kevin Amende, Whitney and Zach Bates, and William Spencer Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Emma, Reagan, Carigan, Peyton, Avery, Wyatt, Cameron, and Greer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewey and Joan Cantrell, Annie Sue Reed, Thomas and Sharon Reed, Richard and Debbie Reed, Doug and Dessa Reed, and Shirley Reed, all of McMinnville, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive. A special thanks to Ashley Dyer and Lakresha Dillard of Avalon Hospice. Graveside service and interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Dekalb Memorial Gardens in Smithville, TN with Matthew Heath Simpson, Michael Andrew Simpson, Darryl Lynn Cantrell, and Sam Anderson officiating. There will be no service or visitation at High's. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
