Lavaughn Douglas Scott

McMinnville, TN resident and Davidson County, TN native Lavaughn Douglas Scott, age 57, was born August 1, 1963 and died June 27, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. A member of Northside Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Wesley and Gertrude Akins Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother and sisters. Mr. Scott is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Billy Pitmon of McMinnville, TN, Alice and John Underwood of Acworth, GA, and Debbie and David Boyd of McMinnville, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in High's Chapel with Pokie George officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
