McMinnville resident and Warren County native Linda Marie Hale Simpson, age 79, was born December 29, 1943 and died April 23, 2023 at her residence following a brief illness.
A retired, self-employed babysitter and member of Christ Chapel Church, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Mary Frances Rowland Hale. She was married May 30, 1969 to Thomas Malcolm Simpson who preceded her in death December 31, 2020. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, J.N. Hale, M.R. Hale, Myrtle Kirby, Brinda Hale and Nancy Vickers.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by children, Brinda (Allen) Buckner, Thomas (Cristy) Simpson and Kelly (Kevin) Parton all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Sara (Josh) Ross, Cain Buckner, Kade (Haleigh) Simpson, Tyler Simpson, Tanner Simpson, Colter Simpson, Newby Parton, Jonah Parton and Ian Parton; great-grandson, Eastlen Ross; great-granddaughters, Gracelin Marie Ross and Harper Violet Simpson; sister, Peggy (Joe) Ward of California; brothers-in-law, Tommy Vickers of Collierville, TN and Cecil (Agnes) Simpson of Pikeville, TN; sister-in-law, Wanda (John Lee) Downey of Pikeville, TN and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Friendship Cemetery with Gannon Richesin and Phillip Rowland officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at High's.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Chapel Primetimers or Matthew 25 Ministries both c/o High's.
