Lois Miller Tenpenny

McMinnville, TN resident and Hamilton County, TN native Lois Miller Tenpenny, age 80, was born January 21, 1943 and died March 10, 2023 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness.           

A retired seamstress, an employee with River Park Hospital for ten years, Oster Corporation for seventeen years and a member of Madison Street Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late, Ezra Albert and Bonnie Mae Miller, Jr. and Lucille and Kurley Myers.  She was married to Max Lee Tenpenny who preceded her in death on February 16, 2005.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Jimmy Lee Miller.  

Mrs. Tenpenny is survived by children, Joan (Kenneth) Hite of Virginia and Judy (Tim) Sharpe and Wiley (Darlene) Simmons, III, both of McMinnville, TN; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Denise) Miller of McMinnville, TN and Joe (Ann) Miller, Andy (Ernestyne) Miller and Tommy (Cathey) Miller, all of Florida and Phil (Stephanie) Myers of Tullahoma, TN; sisters, Janie (Eddie) Parton of Georgia and Inas Howard of McMinnville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in High’s Chapel with Johnny Newby officiating. Burial will follow at Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
