Lonnie Lavern "Pete" Stotts

Viola, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Lonnie Lavern “Pete” Stotts, age 89, was born May 31, 1934 and died October 2, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness. 

Mr. Stotts was a graduate of the old McMinnville Mechanic School near the fairgrounds in 1964. He was a mechanic by trade and later in life worked on small engines. He loved blue grass music, festivals and old cars.  Pete was the son of the late Leonidas and Oma Fults Stotts and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, James Madison and Henrietta Barnes Stotts and George K. and Annie Lee Hobbs Fults; sister, Ethel Stotts Pierce and nephew, Larry M. Stotts.

Mr. Stotts was married to Patsy Stotts of Viola, TN in 1983. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Donnie (Bobbi) Stotts of Viola, TN and Jimmy (Ruth) Stotts of Summitville, TN; two step-sons, Kelly (Beth) Wheeler of Florida and Ellis Wheeler of Manchester, TN; two step-daughters, Gail Wheeler and Laurie (Delbert) Allred, both of Alabama; three grandchildren, Jonathan Stotts of McMinnville, TN, Jenny Bottoms of Shelbyville, TN and Donielle (Adam) Waller of Manchester, TN; five great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Coffee County, TN with Kelly Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at High Funeral Home. There will be no visitation on Thursday at High’s. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery.
