Lonnie Carson "Hootee" Malone

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Lonnie Carson “Hootee” Malone, age 79, was born May 5, 1946 and died May 28, 2025 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness.

“Hootee” attended Morrison Church of Christ, was a retired car salesman and was the son of the late William Claude and Rebecca Morris Malone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by children, Carla and Dusty Malone; brothers, William Harold Malone and Clark Wayne Malone and nephews, Larry Alan Hale and Rodney Morris Malone.

He was married to Sandra Womack Malone of McMinnville on August 19, 1967. In addition to his wife, “Hootee” is survived by sisters, Helen Claudene McCormick of Rock Island, TN and Sue Ellen Hale of the Lucky Community; twin brother, Johnny Carl (Faye) Malone of McMinnville; sisters-in-law, Daisy Hobbs of McMinnville and Brenda Bryan of Manchester, TN; brother-in-law, Wayne Donalson of McMinnville and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Chris Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at High’s.
