Rock Island

Rock Island, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Loyd Ray Hale, Sr., age 82, was born January 26, 1942 and passed from this life April 25, 2024 surrounded by a room full of family members and friends at Alive Hospice.

An employee of Powermatic for 32 years, previous owner of Hale's Garbage Pickup and member of Harmony Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Martin and Birdie Hale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, William Lee, Elsie May, Loraine Hale, Isaac Hale, Lillie Jane Rogers, Martin Hale, Jr., Marie Allen, Billy Hale and Thomas Hale and special nephew, Chad Rowland.

Mr. Hale was married July 8, 1966 to Linda Hale of Rock Island who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Tammy (Greg) Vinson of Rock Island, Tonya (Mickey) Bryan of Morrison and Ray (Demetria) Hale of Christiana; grandchildren, Zack (Erin) Deckard of Morrison, Ty (Katelyn) Bryan of McMinnville, Calista Vinson (Nick Dobbins) of Lenoir City and Sarah Grace Vinson (Alex Hollandsworth) of Rock Island; great-grandchildren, Joshua Lynn Deckard and Jacob Lee Deckard both of  
Morrison; sisters-in-law, Joyce Rowland of the Dibrell community and Betty (Jimmy) DeArmond of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024 in High's Chapel with Bob McCoy to officiate. Interment will follow at White Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be Saturday 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High's.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels or White Hill Cemetery in c/o Greg Vinson.
