Lucille Woodlee Witt

Rock Island, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Lucille Woodlee Witt, age 90, was born October 9, 1931 and died June 3, 2022 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A homemaker and dairy farmer and member of Harmony Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Clay and Lemma Smartt Woodlee. She was married July 3, 1954 to Charles Witt who preceded her in death September 21, 1988. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Anderson and Reba Fults and son-in-law, Denny Deweese. Mrs. Witt is survived by four children, Velma (Tony) Stiles of Rock Island, TN, Donna (Earl) McCoy of the Cedar Grove Community, Phyllis Deweese of the Fall Creek Falls Community and CL (Kathy) Witt of McMinnville; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Jared) Sain of McMinnville, Bailey Deweese of the Fall Creek Falls Community, Ramsey (Mary Beth) McCoy of the Cedar Grove Community, Lee (Brittany) Stiles of the Highland Community, Tessa (Cristian) Davis of Baxter, TN, Hayla (John) Moore of Colorado and Olivia Witt of Christiana, TN; ten great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; brother, Alton (Kaye) Woodlee of McMinnville; two brothers-in-law, Gene A. Fults of McMinnville and Wallace Anderson of Franklin, TN and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Witt enjoyed quilting and being an active member of the Cedar Grove FCE Club for many years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to NHC Healthcare McMinnville and NHC HomeCare and all their staffs. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2022 in High's Chapel with Bob McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at High's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Grove FCE Club c/o High's.
