Maggie Ruth Hunter

McMinnville, TN resident and White County, TN native Maggie Ruth Hunter, age 93, was born August 3, 1933, and died August 16, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN following a sudden illness. A member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, she loved flowers, shopping and shoes. She was the daughter of the late Vance and Maggie Lavina Cannon Lowery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, James Crockett Hunter; Son, John Vance Hunter; grandson, Stephen Blake Hunter and brother, Earl Lowery.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by her children, Karyn E. (Brian) Smith of Huntingdon Valley, PA, Mike Hunter of McMinnville, TN, Larry (Heidi) Hunter of Fayetteville, GA and Carolyn F. Hunter Yane of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Jemery, Josh, Jordan and Anna Smith, Shahn Hunter and Tisha Hunter; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia E. Lowery of McMinnville, TN.  

Per her wishes, Mrs. Hunter will be cremated.
