Margaret Louise Coppinger Carter

McMinnville, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Margaret Louise Coppinger Carter, age 79, was born October 23, 1943 and died June 12, 2023 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness.           

A former employee of Warren County Senior Center and member of Pearls of Christ Church, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ezell Wanamaker Coppinger.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Jean Preston; brother, Ben Coppinger and daughter-in-law, Judy Carter.

Ms. Carter is survived by children and spouse, Todd Carter of McMinnville, TN, Toby and Jennifer Carter of Beersheba Springs, TN and Stacey Johnson of McMinnville, TN; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Coppinger of Indianapolis, IN and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2023 in High’s Chapel with Travis Wanamaker officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County, TN. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
