McMinnville, TN resident and Auburntown, TN native Marie Janice King, age 84, was born May 14, 1941 and died September 26, 2025 at Alive Hospice Murfreesboro Office and Residence in Murfreesboro, TN following a sudden illness.
A homemaker and a member of Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Della Ruth Mount Wade. She was married to Charles Junior King who preceded her in death on November 23, 2006. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Pleasant, Carrie Macon, Helen Johnson and Olive Wooten and brother, Cecil Wade.
She is survived by children, Lisa (Willard) Hill of Manchester, TN, Bernice King of Manchester, TN, Mary (Alvin) Petty of Manchester, TN, Charlie King of McMinnville, TN and Koshoka Dwayne King of McMinnville, TN; sister, Nora (Henry) Arnold of McMinnville, TN; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
The family of Marie J. King would like to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers, visits, calls and every act of love that you have shown to us during the passing of our mother. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Michael Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Browns Chapel Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at High’s.
