Marlon Wayne Osment

Warren County, TN resident and native Marlon Wayne Osment, age 83, was born April 3, 1941 and died December 1, 2024 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital following a sudden illness.

A retired employee with Warren County Sanitation and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late John Ernest and Jennie Adeline Barrett Osment. Mr. Osment was married November 27, 1965 to Mildred Lee Craig Osment who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Sonny (Sara) Osment, Milton (Nancy) Osment, Cliff (Paulie) Osment, Nelson (Mary) Osment and sisters, Grace Lee Neal, Macon (Virgil) Rains and Minnie Carolyn Osment.

He is survived by son, Ivan “Mugzy” Osment of McMinnville, TN; daughters, Beth (George) Lee and Ann (Jeff) Tubb both of McMinnville, Macon (Dannie) Thomas of Smithville, TN and Sheila Osment of McMinnville; grandchildren, Manuel Lewis, Jennie (Matt) Homer, Shawn (Brittany) Parsley, Kurt (McKenzye) Parsley, Kris (Brenda Ramirez) Parsley, Joshua Osment, James "J.D." (Ashley) Pease, Amber Victoria Jernigan, Kyle (Nicole) Brown and Alan and Jacob Tubb; great-grandchildren, Americus McGuire, Matthew, Abbigail and Blake Basham, Jayden, McKayla, Nolan & Kaitlyn Parsley, Clarke and Kaysen Parsley, Ayden, Averie and Angelique Parsley, Gabriel Jernigan, Gabriel and Lillith Mullins and Reid and Ford Tubb; special friend, Nancy Watson and several nieces and nephews. Honorary pall bearers for the service will be Roy Mabe, Lynn “Bones” Woodlee, Waymon Butcher, Harold B. Hillis, David Flannigan, Fred Ferrell and Brandon Sweeton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Danny Young to officiate. Interment will follow at New Union Cemetery on Hwy. 30. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
