Mary Ann Wilkerson Battles

Morrison, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Mary Ann Wilkerson Battles, age 69, was born October 11, 1952 and died June 20, 2022 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of Carrier Corp. and member of the Browntown Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Dave Wilkerson and Nancy Louise Wooten Wilkerson of Grundy County, TN. She was married on January 2, 1971 to Larry D. Battles of Morrison, TN. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ida Mae Cummings. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Battles is survived by daughters, Gale (Nelson) Ramsey of McMinnville, TN and Martisha (Bobby) Mays of Morrison, TN; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kennedy Ramsey; step-grandson, Tyler Ramsey of Houston, TX, great-grandson, Kailo Reece Brown; brothers, Eugene (Joyce) Wilkerson and Jimmy (Linda) Wilkerson, both of Morrison, TN and sisters, Teresa Carney of McMinnville, TN and Nancy Wilkerson of Morrison, TN. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Chris Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County, TN.
