Rock Island, TN resident and White County, TN native Mayme Lee Hillis, age 82, was born December 5, 1938 and died July 17, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. A retired manager from VFW Post 5064 and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Lola Mae Blevins Clark. She was married to Marion Parker Hillis on March 9, 1976 who preceded her in death on January 19, 2007. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Roy Lee Mitchell, Jr. Mrs. Hillis is survived by son, Mark (Trisha) Mitchell of Sparta, TN; daughter, Amy Mitchell McCluskey of Rock Island, TN; two daughters, Karla Hillis of Bone Cave, TN and Phaedra Lancaster of Manchester, TN; two sons, Steve Hillis of Rock Island, TN and Earl (Christy) Hillis of Winchester, TN; son, James "Little Man" Anderson of Viola, TN; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many extended family members also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 in High’s Chapel with Jeff Page officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
