McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native Morris Waymon Hennessee, age 91, was born March 18, 1933 and died November 20, 2024 at Tennessee State Veterans’ Home in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness.
A United States Army veteran of Korea, retired nurseryman and owner of Honeysuckle Acres Nursery and member of Earlyville Church of Christ, he was the son of the late George and Mallie Green Hennessee. Mr. Hennessee was married December 24, 1955 to Wilma Joyce Starkey Hennessee who preceded him in death on December 23, 2009. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Wesley Hennessee; brothers, Winfrey and Jorris Hennessee and sisters, Edna Taylor, Goldie Taylor, Juanita Byars, Nora Hennessee and Mary Hennessee.
He is survived by son, Mark (Denise) Hennessee of Morrison, TN; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Caleb) Lance of Morrison, Jonathan Hennessee of Murfreesboro, TN, Steven (Brittney) Hennessee of LaVergne, TN and Kim (Tim) Jones of Short Mountain; two great-grandchildren, Brantley and Brayden Jones and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to caregiver and family friend, Rhonda Drake.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Johnny Lance to officiate. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
