McMinnville resident and Warren County native Nettie Lee George, age 87, was born May 30, 1938 and died July 8, 2025 at NHC McMinnville following an extended illness.
A homemaker and member of North Hills Church of God of Prophecy, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Dodd Sr. and Edna Mae Halland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin George; brothers, Jim Dodd, Junior Dodd, Bill Dodd, JC Dodd, Frank Dodd, Cecil Dodd; sisters, Louise Holland, Susie Dodd and sister-in-law, Ruby Dodd.
Mrs. George is survived by children Carl (Brenda) George of Rock Island and Mary Cantrell (Joaquin Hernandez) of McMinnville; grandchildren, Carl George, Jr., Frankie George, Kimberly George, Kristy Mullican and Mari Beth Bell; great-grandchildren, Kaison George, Stella George, River George, Tinleigh George, Austin Cantrell, Krissy Bell, Gracie Bell, Braxton Bell, Zoie Bell, Ashley Russell, Lacey Abair and Dakota Mullican; several great-great-grandchildren; sister Mary Etta Dodd of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Friday, July 11, 2025 at North Hills Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Michael Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at High’s.
