Norma Fay Wood

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Norma Fay Wood, age 92, was born March 31, 1930 and died April 25, 2022 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of Rock Island State Park and member of Blues Hill Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Tempie Goff Gunter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, James Michael Wood; two sisters, Jean Patterson and Marion “Babe” Dodd and brother-in-law, Ed Patterson. Ms. Wood is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Wayne Hudgens of Manchester, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Julie Wood of McMinnville, TN; five grandchildren, Kelly Wood, Casi Wood, Atlanta Northcutt, Susan Hudgens and Laura Hudgens; one great-grandson, Carter Lee and two sisters and brother-in-law, Shelby Todd of McMinnville, TN and Dana and Collier Grissom of Rock Island, TN. Per Ms. Wood’s wishes, she will be cremated, and a private family inurnment will be held at Blues Hill Cemetery in Warren County, TN. No service or visitation will be held at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blues Hill Cemetery, Pregnancy Care Center or Meals on Wheels. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
