Pauline Letsasky Cates Angel

Pauline Letasky Cates Angel, 99, formerly of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, in McMinnville, TN. She was born in Ohio on June 26, 1922 to Emre and Mary Letasky; attended Carlisle High School; married Charles Calvin Cates of Lonoke; and raised two children. She worked in cotton fields, as a clerk and assistant manager at Sterling Drug, and as a secretary and in other positions at First Federal Savings & Loan in Little Rock until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, reading and daytime TV; she was independent and active until very late in her life. Predeceased by her husbands Calvin Cates and Kenneth Angel, and her son-in-law Doug Nelson. Survivors are her daughter Gayle Nelson of Little Rock; son Gary Cates (Margie) of N. Little Rock; grandchildren Angela Cates (Dana) of Rockvale, TN; Joe Nelson (Shannon) of Benton; Karen Erickson (Kirk) of Scottsdale, AZ; Tina Johnson (Bobby) of Mayflower; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. No service. Her remains will be interred at Little Rock National Cemetery.
