Rayburn Holt

April 3, 1937 — January 8, 2024

Morrison, TN resident and Warren County native Rayburn Holt, age 86, was born April 3, 1937 and died January 8, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness.

A brick mason and member of Grange Hall Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Gann Holt.  He was married June 1, 1955 to Martha Bouldin Holt who preceded him in death September 8, 2022.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Louise (Raymond) Young, Estill (Henry) Holland, Rosie (J.C.) Bouldin, Helen Roberts, Jimmy (Frances) Holt, Dillard (Willie) Holt, Orville Holt, Walter Holt, Raymond Holt and several other siblings.

Rayburn enjoyed fishing and gardening.  He was happiest when he was able to share his garden harvest with his family and friends.

Mr. Holt is survived by his sister and special caregiver, Earlene Vickers of Morrison, TN;  numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and special caregivers.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Mr. Holt's caregivers, Gentiva Hospice and Dr. Todd Stewart and his nurse, Daria.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 in High's Chapel with Rickey Burks and Stanley Roberts officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bascom Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's.
