Raymond E. Rigsby

McMinnville resident and White County, TN native Raymond E. Rigsby, age 80, was born June 18, 1943 and died April 21, 2024 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness. 

A United States Army veteran of Vietnam, owner and operator of Rigsby Manufacturing in Walling, TN for thirty-seven years, retired welding instructor of fourteen and a half years at TCAT and a born-again Christian of the Baptist faith, he was the son of the late Julius Eldridge and Myrtle Mae Seals Rigsby.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nephew, Troy McCormick.

He was married to Ruby D. Rigsby of McMinnville on October 5, 1985. In addition to his wife of over 38 years, Mr. Rigsby is survived by daughter, Jamie R. Rigsby; loving step-daughter, Dawn R. (Billy) Hairrell of Knoxville, TN; granddaughter, Peytan R. Sutherland of McMinnville; great-granddaughter, Dawsyn D. Sutherland of McMinnville; brothers, Larry D. (Mary) Rigsby of Rock Island, TN and Richard B. Rigsby of Brentwood, TN; sister, Donna C. (Gary) Brewer of McMinnville; much loved nieces and nephews, Jennifer Guy, Angela Bond, Greg Rigsby and Aaron Rigsby; several cousins; special sister-in-law, Reta (Bruce) Brown of Honolulu, HI; special friends, Joe and Mary Pugh; many, many other close friends and beloved pet, Maddie.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Rick Stewart and Michael Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Gath Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
