Reba Jean Fitzgerald Godwin

McMinnville, TN resident and Davidson County, TN native Reba Jean Fitzgerald Godwin, age 94, was born May 9, 1927 and died September 4, 2021 at Willow Branch following a brief illness. A homemaker and Nana to everyone, she was the daughter of the late Archie Hall and Maude Alice Dodson Fitzgerald. She was married to M. H. "Bud" Godwin on September 15, 1944, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Dennis Godwin; grandchildren, Jacob Godwin, Mike Daily and Tyler Doughtie and siblings, Archileen Brown, W.E. “Bill” Fitzgerald and baby brother Jack Fitzgerald. Mrs. Godwin is survived by children and spouses, Cherry (Joe) Falkenberry of California, Nick Godwin of Murfreesboro, David (Glenna) Godwin of McMinnville, Dan (Lisa) Godwin of Alabama, Joey (Rona) Godwin of Christiana, TN, Jack Godwin of McMinnville, and Christopher (Jennifer) Godwin of Morrison; grandchildren, Marcy Bolding, Jeremy Godwin, Jason Welle, Cherodi Schaetzle, Daniel Falkenberry, Heather Godwin, Sarah Jean and Charles David Godwin, Aaron and Chesea Godwin, Peyton, Cole, Christa Godwin, Andrew Turner, Spencer Chapman, Vallie and Burr Blount; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special family members, Steve West, Cindy Barnes, Brian Kell, Chuck Haston, Jr., Valerie Womack and special cousin, Tandie Fox of Santa Fe, TN. A host of friends also survive. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN with Dan Godwin and Doug Pennington officiating. No service or visitation will be held at High's. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
