Robert Anderson Gwynn

Murfreesboro, TN resident and Chattanooga, TN native Robert Anderson Gwynn, age 91, was born August 28, 1934 and died December 25, 2025 at Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness.

A Vietnam veteran of the United States Air Force, retired civilian employee for the Inspector General with the United States Army and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Leonard and Vera Willis Gwyn, Sr. He was married to Barbara Lilian Youell on March 30, 1965 who preceded him in death on December 27, 2022. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard Gwyn, Jr. and Thomas Gwyn.

Mr. Gwynn is survived by sister, Mary Fannie Biles of McMinnville, TN; nephews, James "Mickey" (Marion) Gwyn of Murfreesboro, TN, Roger (Rose) Biles of Brentwood, TN and Robert (Verdell) Biles of Murfreesboro, TN ; nieces, Cathy (Steve) Officer of Smithville, TN, Mary Wilson of McMinnville, TN, and Sharon (Dave) Mills of Henderson, NV and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County, TN with Bro. Eugene Wilkerson officiating. No service or visitation will be held at High’s. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.

Full military honors will be administered by the Veterans Honor Guard of the Upper Cumberlands.
