McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Roy Franklin Cantrell, age 84, was born June 24, 1941 and died March 28, 2026 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro following a brief illness.
A self-employed draftsman and a member of the Christian faith, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth Ogle Cantrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Leo Cantrell; sisters, Peggy Slaughter and Jamie Griffith and half-brother, Cecil Pelham.
Mr. Cantrell is survived by nephews and nieces, Hugh (Sherry) Slaughter, David (Shannon) Slaughter, Pam (Rob) Thompson and Mary Ann (Rickey) Cox, all of McMinnville; great niece and great-nephews, Braelin Slaughter, Will Prater, Gavin Slaughter, Lacey Morgan and Chris (Kelly) Slaughter; special friends, Darlene Bendzlowicz of McMinnville, Carol Rutledge of McMinnville and Margaret (Michael) Hobbs of McMinnville.
Graveside service and interment will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Morrison Cemetery with Mike Mansfield officiating. There will be no visitation at High's.
