Ruth Elaine Franklin March 3, 1938-August 4, 2026

Ruth Elaine Franklin, 88, graduated to Heaven on August 4, 2026. Born the third daughter of Robert Gowanlock and Verna Gowanlock (Gress) and the middle child of seven, Ruth was the last to survive of her family.

Married to Roger Franklin for 69 years, she made her life full with her role as wife and mother to daughters Shelley Lopez (Franklin) and Lori Nellist (Franklin). She was a native of western New York for 84 years. In 2021 she and Roger moved to McMinnville, TN to be near both daughters and New Frontiers Camp where she was often helpful in the kitchen feeding children and adults alike.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Shelley (J. Michael) Lopez and Lori (Larry) Nellist, grandchildren, Gabriel (Ashley) Lopez and Sophia Stevens and Great Grandchildren, Evelyn Lopez and Isabella and Simone Stevens.

A private memorial service will be held in September, 2026 at New Frontiers Camp. Special thanks to Gentiva for committed, kind and professional service. Donations may be made to New Frontiers which is a charitable organization dear to her heart (New Frontiers 3939 Old Snow Hill Road, Dowelltown, TN 37059). No service or visitation will be held at High's.
