Terry "Chad" Jones

May 12, 1970 — July 27, 2025

McMinnville, TN

Terry Chester “Chad” Jones, Jr., born on May 12, 1970, and a resident of McMinnville, Tennessee, passed away at the age of 55 due to a sudden illness, surrounded by love and family. He is survived by his two sons, Caleb Jones and Darrick Jones, along with Darrick’s fiancée, Cheyenne Shettles; the mother of his children, Renea Jones; his half-sister, Christie Jones; his step-father, Larry Dennis; a large extended family including the Milstead family, the Smith family, the Day family (Georgie and Roger), the Foutch family, the Jones family, and many more cousins, friends, and loved ones who will forever carry his memory.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia L. Dennis; his father, Terry Jones; his maternal and paternal grandparents and his beloved grandmother, Katie G. Rogers, affectionately known as “Granny Bop”.

Chad lived with heart, humor, and an unstoppable creative spirit. He gave his life to Christ at just nine years old, a commitment that shaped his journey and guided his every step. His love for God and others was the foundation of who he was — offering kindness without hesitation, compassion without condition, and encouragement to all who needed it.

A proud graduate of Warren County High School, Chad wore #67 on the Warren County Pioneers football team, where he served as team captain and formed lifelong bonds with his teammates. His leadership extended far beyond the field, into every area of his life.

Chad had a deep love for health and fitness. A record-setting bench presser who surpassed 500 pounds, he inspired many as both a personal trainer and mentor. He was the owner of Planet Nutrition, a store born of his passion to help others achieve wellness and strength.

Creativity flowed naturally through Chad — from his artwork to his videos and uplifting humor, he had a rare ability to make people smile in even the darkest moments. He was a storyteller, an artist, a joyful spirit — and someone who truly made life more beautiful for those around him.

Though he lived with heart failure for several years, and struggled on any given day, Chad never let it define or defeat him. He faced each day with strength, resilience, and unwavering love for his boys. His greatest pride was being their father, and he showed up for them with a kind of love that will never fade.

Chad will be remembered as a hero and a wonderful father to his children. He will be remembered for his faith, his laughter, and the legacy of light he leaves behind. His presence was a gift, and his memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew him.
