Thomas Denzel Arrington, Sr. (Tommy), 87, passed away on December 26, 2024. He was a native of Nashville, Tennessee, a long-time resident of Mount Juliet, and a member of the Center Chapel Church of Christ.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Arrington, Sr. and Edweene Howse Arrington and his brother, William Edward Arrington, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Dorothea Mae (Dot) Simons Arrington; son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Susan Arrington of Smyrna, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kelley Arrington of Murfreesboro, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Ashley Arrington of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Corey and Chelsa Arrington, Taylor and Heather Arrington, Peyton and Alyssa Arrington, Ryan Arrington, Tanner Arrington, and Avery Arrington; great-granddaughters, Lexie and Paisley Arrington; sister, Ann Hertenstein; brother and sister-in-law, Dickie and Patsy Arrington; brother and sister-in-law, John and Sue Arrington and sister-in-law, Betty Sue Simons McGregor. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on January 10, 1937. He attended Cumberland High School where he lettered in football. After graduating, he was employed by Baird Ward Printing Company. He later founded Thomas D. Arrington Construction and built a strong reputation in custom home building and remodeling.
Tommy married his beloved Dot Simons on October 19, 1958, in McMinnville, Tennessee. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, and other sports, especially football.
Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Smyrna Cemetery in Warren County with Melanie Anderson to officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at High’s.
