McMinnville, TN resident and Cannon County, TN native Velma Jeanette Rains Glenn, age 79, was born September 20, 1944 and died December 6, 2023 at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN following a short illness.
A retired employee of A.O. Smith and a member of West End Avenue Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Warden and Irene Summers Rains. She was married to Grover Cleveland Hennessee who preceded her in death in 1993 and James Roy Glenn who preceded her in death in 2001. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by brother, Larry Rains.
Mrs. Glenn is survived by children, Lee Hennessee of McMinnville, TN and Rhonda (Harold) Elkins of Sparta, TN; five grandchildren, Monica (Josh) Taylor, Alexander Hennessee, Dusty Elkins, Wesley Hennessee and Natalie Hennessee; five great-grandchildren, Cambree, Shealynn, Cliff, Zoey and Emmalynn; sister, Melba Stanley of McMinnville, TN and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2023 in High’s Chapel in McMinnville, TN with Wayne Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
