Wanda Elaine Barnes

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Wanda Elaine Barnes, age 69, was born January 30, 1956 and died December 26, 2025 at Nashville Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Nashville, TN following an extended illness.

The secretary for Vernon Barnes Nursery and of the Methodist faith, she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Nancy King Muncey. She was married to James Vernon “Jimmie” Barnes on May 29, 1982 who preceded her in death on October 21, 2024.

Mrs. Barnes is survived by daughter, Kerrie Barnes of McMinnville, TN; son, James Green of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Eli and Isaiah; special cousin, Malinda Brown and special companions, Peyton, Heidi and Jake.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Jon Simmons and Ricky Magness officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at High’s.
