Wayne Lee Rains

McMinnville, TN resident and Muncie, IN native Wayne Lee Rains, age 80, was born October 14, 1943 and died April 10, 2024 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro. A retired supervisor with General Motors, he was the son of the late John C. and Mollie B. Maples Rains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Larry Don Rains and brother, Curtis Rains. Mr. Rains was married May 4, 2019 to Sylvia Rains who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Penny (Richard) Fields of North Carolina and Saundie (Rick) Coombs of Hartsville, TN; step-children, Janet (Bill) Ingle of Knoxville, TN, Sheila (John) Turner of Morristown, TN, Howard James (Kelly) Wilson, Jr. of Mt. Juliet, TN, Annette (George) Wilson of Lebanon, TN, Ira (Spring) Thomas, Jr. of Hermitage, TN and Mike Thomas of Murfreesboro, TN; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Randy (Jayne) Rains and Russell (Denise) Rains of Muncie, IN; sisters, Lenore Rains, Becky Kerr and Susie (Arthur) Richards of Muncie, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Rains Cemetery in Warren County, TN with Jon Henry to officiate. There will not be any service or visitation at High’s, friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
