William Melban "Bill" Cathcart

 McMinnville, TN resident and Winterhaven, FL native William Melban "Bill" Cathcart, age 78, was born December 21, 1947 and died February 16, 2026 at his residence following an extended illness.

A retired mechanical engineer of thirty-eight and a half years with AEDC, a farmer and member of St. Mary's Church of Christ, he was the son of the late William Henry "Will H." and Melba Clendenon Cathcart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Dennis and brother-in-law, Don Robbins.

He was married on December 19, 1970 to Paula Cathcart of McMinnville, TN who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, William Luther Cathcart, Paul Livy (Susan) Cathcart and Robert Levi (Michelle) Cathcart, all of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Callie (Dalton) Davis, Kenley (Eli) Randolph and Lilly, Sam and Emma Cathcart; great-grandchildren, Elora Kay Davis and Georgia Ann Davis; brother, Tom (Carole) Cathcart; sister, Janie Robbins; nephews, James (Heather) Robbins, Alex (Misha) Cathcart, Ian (Crystal) Cathcart, Curt (Lisa) Cathcart and Brian (Ashley) Cathcart and niece, Julia (Chris) Rhoady. Several cousins, great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026 in High’s Chapel with Rickey Magness and Greg Rains officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
