Zelda Renee Avent

Smithville, TN resident and Dekalb County, TN native Zelda Renee Avent, age 50, was born March 27, 1973 and died suddenly February 3, 2024 at her residence. 

An employee of Federal Mogul, she was the daughter of Jeff Barnes of Manchester, TN and the late Sheron Ann Whitworth.

She was married to Chad Miles Avent of Smithville, TN on October 26, 2012. In addition to her father and husband, she is survived by children, Ashly Jones of Murfreesboro, TN and Anthony (Shelby) Caldwell of Smithville, TN; grandchildren, Roman, Destiny, Katelynn, Aroura, Anastasia and Orion Jones and Jaxon, Harper and Kimber Caldwell and brother, Donnie Barnes of Manchester, TN.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Charles Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
