George Washington GROSS

June 12, 1931 — May 11, 2006

Rocky River Community resident and Grundy County, TN native George Washington "Doug" Gross, age 74, was born June 12, 1931 and died May 11, 2006 at River Park Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  A retired employee of the Powermatic Foundry and a member of the Cumberland Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Beecher and Lydia Moffet Gross.  He was married to Melba June Yates Gross of the Rocky River Community.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, George Eugene Gross of the Rocky River Community;  two brothers, Ernest Bonnel Gross of Galion, OH and Albert Fredrick Gross of Crestline, OH;  one sister, Mary Rebecca Herr of Crestline, OH and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2006 in High's Chapel with Dennis Deweese officiating.  Burial followed in the Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
